DESCRIPTION

This medical product is a concentrated aqueous solution for antiseptic treatment of hooves of cattle and small ruminants. Visually Smake-HUVS is a clear blue liquid. The drug is produced packaged in 1, 5, 10, 20 and 30 liters in plastic cans of appropriate capacity; 200 liters each in plastic barrels.

BENEFITS

Alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride and glutaraldehyde, which are part of the preparation, have a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action against most gram positive and gram-negative bacteria, viruses and fungi.

There is no need to remove the worst livestock products — all productive qualities are preserved.

INGREDIENTS

Smake-HUVS contains 15% of glutaraldehyde, 5% of alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, 10% of copper sulfate 5-water as active ingredients, and as excipients: aluminum sulfate 18-water, polyvinylpyrrolidone, “Green apple” essence, purified drinking water.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Glutaraldehyde interacts with the amino group of the bacterial wall protein, resulting in the denaturation of proteins with the formation of other compounds. In an acidic environment, it penetrates into the cell, in an alkaline environment (pH 7.5 - 8.5 is optimal), a reaction occurs with the outer layers of cells, stopping their division.

Quaternary Ammonium Compound (QAC) of alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride affects the cytoplasmic membrane of bacteria, reacting with phospholipid components in the cytoplasmic membrane, causing membrane deformation and lysis of the protoplast as a result of osmotic stress.

Copper sulfate has a fungicidal and bactericidal effect. The mechanism of action is based on the fact that copper ions react with lipoprotein and enzyme complexes of a fungal or bacterial cell, causing irreversible changes in protoplasm and nonspecific denaturation of proteins.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

Smake-HUVS is used for antiseptic treatment of hooves of cattle and small ruminants.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

The drug shall be used externally in the form of aqueous solution. The treatment shall be carried out by footbaths, spraying or dressings (bandaging).

Treatment of animals shall be carried out by a veterinarian, a paramedic or by specially trained people under their guidance.

For the prevention of hoof disease, the treatment shall be carried out by running animals through foot baths filled with a 2% aqueous solution of the drug, twice a day for 30 days, or with a 5% aqueous solution daily for 7 days, twice a day.

If signs of necrobacillosis appear, clean the hoof and after removing the affected areas of the horn, apply 5% solution to the treated surface by fine spraying with a spraying device until completely wet, including the interdigital space and the back of the hoof or apply a dressing soaked in 5% solution twice at an interval of 2 days. Then move on to
footbaths.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to the use of the drug is the individual hypersensitivity of animals to the components of the drug.

SHELF LIFE

2 years from the date of production. Shelf life of 2% and 5% working solutions of
the drug — 14 days.
